Cancer Awareness Shuffleboard Tournament February 3rd & 4th

What a wonderful idea Rene to raise money for Cancer Awareness! Rene Maurier, our chair, suggested his plan to our committee. Everyone was totally "on board." Eight of our best courts were chosen which would enable 32 players to participate in this Tournament. The remaining eight courts would be set up for regular play. We agreed on a $5.00 entry fee.

Thursday Feb 3rd, all players randomly drew courts and partners. These would be their partners for the two day tournament. The goal was to win games regardless of the score. This was a Team Effort, not an individual one. What a concept! The competition was on! No nicey, nicey..... this was serious stuff. Just looking at the determined look on some of those faces meant we were in for a lot of fun and close scores.
There were 4 draws or events. Two games were played on Feb 3rd. If your team lost both of those games, you were out of the Tournament. Winners of both games and those who just lost one game were to play on Saturday Feb 4th.

Ribbons were placed above designated Tournament courts.
